It was developed in collaboration with Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging.

This paper packaging is lightweight, making it ideal for eCommerce logistics by reducing shipping costs and environmental impact. Amazon has already phased out traditional bubble-wrap padded envelopes across Europe, highlighting its push for more sustainable practices. The challenge was to develop packaging that offers the same level of protection as bubble wrap but is recyclable and user-friendly. Thais Blumer, Amazon's European Head of Sustainable Packaging, remarked on the difficulty of achieving low weight and maximum protection in a recyclable format but affirmed that these new envelopes enable damage-free deliveries while remaining easy for customers to recycle at home.
