As the year draws to a close, the renowned trade fairs, Food Africa and pacprocess Middle East Africa, are set to showcase industry trends and innovations in food, beverages, processing, and packaging. Taking place from December 12 to 14 at the Egypt International Exhibition Center, the events boast a record-breaking participation of over 800 exhibitors from 32 countries. Endorsed by the Egyptian Ministry for Trade and Industry and the Ministry for Supply and Internal Trade, the fairs emphasize the collaborative efforts of Egypt and Africa for economic growth and technological advancement. Hosted by IFP Egypt, Konzept Exhibitions & Events, and Messe Düsseldorf GmbH under the interpack alliance, these fairs provide a unique platform.Kuwait serves as the partner country for Food Africa, contributing to a shared booth.
The success of Food Africa and pacprocess MEA mirrors the rapid evolution of the market. With Africa's population projected to reach 2.5 billion by 2050, demographic shifts and increased purchasing power present lucrative opportunities for the food, consumer goods, and packaging industries. The fairs feature a forward-looking program, including lectures, live cooking shows, barista demonstrations, and a hosted buyers’ program facilitating direct interactions between participants and suppliers. Noteworthy additions include the "SHE Pavilion" for businesswomen and the inaugural "women in business" gathering, showcasing a commitment to gender diversity. Additionally, a small and medium-sized enterprise innovation competition and a heightened focus on sustainability and the SAVE FOOD initiative are set to elevate the events in 2023.
Pacprocess MEA places a special emphasis on sustainability, combatting food loss and waste, and introduces the "Sustainability Design Award." The collaboration with SIG as a sustainability partner enhances the region's commitment to sustainable practices. Conference highlights encompass a broad spectrum, addressing topics from the Egyptian strategy for food and agriculture to marketing and branding in FMCG. Discussions delve into future trends in packaging design, innovations against food loss and waste, and strategies for packaging manufacturers in emerging markets. The 2024 edition is scheduled for December 3 to 5.
