AeroFlexx has been awarded two new U.S. patents for its AirFrame™ technology, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable packaging with reduced plastic usage and superior performance.
AeroFlexx, a company at the forefront of sustainable packaging innovation, has recently secured two additional U.S. patents that strengthen its intellectual property portfolio and further validate its novel approach to reducing plastic waste in packaging. These patents, issued in May 2025, are a clear recognition of the company’s unique AirFrame™ technology — a hybrid flexible-rigid format that blends the best of both worlds in terms of functionality and sustainability.
The newly granted patents — U.S. Patent Nos. 11,994,074 and 11,994,075 — cover enhancements to AeroFlexx’s proprietary packaging system, which uses significantly less plastic than traditional bottles while maintaining structural integrity, dispensing precision, and leak resistance. With these additions, AeroFlexx now holds over 100 global patents and patent applications, reinforcing its market-leading position in eco-conscious packaging technologies.
"These patents highlight our relentless commitment to innovation and our mission to deliver truly sustainable packaging options that do not compromise on performance," said Andrew Meyer, CEO of AeroFlexx.
Unlike traditional rigid plastic bottles, the AeroFlexx pack is constructed with an integrated air chamber and a precision valve that delivers controlled dispensing. This reduces the need for caps and closures, minimizing material usage and enabling an easier recycling or reuse process. The AirFrame™ design can be used across a variety of liquid products including personal care, household cleaning, and food-grade liquids.
The environmental advantages are substantial. AeroFlexx packaging uses up to 85% less virgin plastic compared to conventional bottles, contributes to a smaller carbon footprint throughout its lifecycle, and is designed to be compatible with existing recycling streams. Additionally, the format is optimized for e-commerce, being leak-resistant and shatterproof, which reduces damage and returns in transit.
These innovations come at a critical time. With increasing regulatory pressure from Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation and growing consumer demand for greener alternatives, brands are actively seeking packaging solutions that align with their sustainability goals. AeroFlexx has positioned itself as a key enabler in this transition, offering scalable technology that can be implemented with minimal disruption to existing filling and distribution processes.
Several global brands have already begun pilot programs with AeroFlexx, signaling confidence in the technology's performance and sustainability credentials. The latest patents provide additional protection and strategic leverage as AeroFlexx expands its commercial footprint across North America and beyond.
In the broader context of packaging innovation, AeroFlexx stands as a model of how intellectual property and sustainability can go hand in hand, driving the industry toward a circular economy. With a growing patent portfolio and increasing market adoption, the company is not just following trends — it is helping to shape them.
