Alufix, the renowned Austrian brand for household and catering products, has been awarded the coveted Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024 award for its new packaging design. This prestigious recognition, rarely granted in the household products category, marks a significant milestone for the brand as it celebrates 60 years of innovation. The award comes as part of Alufix’s larger brand relaunch, highlighting its dedication to merging modern aesthetics with its rich tradition.
The new packaging, which features a clean, purist design while retaining the iconic red color and familiar lettering, was developed in collaboration with the Viennese advertising agency KTHE | Team Farner. The packaging redesign was a key component of Alufix’s anniversary celebration, reflecting its heritage with the addition of "since 1963" while bringing a fresh, elegant look to store shelves.
“We are thrilled to receive the Red Dot: Best of the Best award. This achievement validates our effort to modernize the Alufix brand while staying true to its roots. It’s a rare recognition in our industry and one that speaks to the quality and care we put into our packaging design,” said Yuriy Golianych, General Manager Household, Recycling and Intl Business at Biosphere Corporation.
Packaging as a Game-Changer
The Red Dot award places Alufix’s new packaging at the forefront of design excellence, making it a standout in the crowded household goods market. The redesign isn’t just about aesthetics—it also serves as a key communication tool, ensuring that each product is easily identifiable and visually appealing to consumers. This careful balance between functionality and design is what sets Alufix apart.
“When creating the new packaging, we wanted to honor Alufix’s long-standing tradition while presenting it in a way that feels contemporary and relevant to today’s consumers. The Red Dot award confirms we’ve achieved that,” added Golianych.
A Strong Market Presence
Following the relaunch, Alufix products—including aluminum foil, bin liners, and baking paper—are now available in their new award-winning packaging across METRO, BILLA, MPREIS, and Wedl stores in Austria, Spar in Hungary and Slovenia, Kaufland and Selgros in Romania, online retailers such as gurkerl.at, kifli.hu and kosyk.cz and many others in CEE. Customers in Germany can also find the products on knuspr.de.
