Amcor's breakthrough in packaging with WIPE, an AI-based tool from MSU. Elevate your understanding of distribution and consumer experience
Amcor, a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, proudly reveals the triumphant team of the latest Amcor Lift-Off pitch competition: Web-Based Intelligent Packaging Evaluation (WIPE). In collaboration with Michigan State University (MSU), Amcor hosted this competition as part of its Lift-Off program, an initiative dedicated to nurturing early-stage start-ups focusing on groundbreaking packaging solutions and related technologies.
WIPE, developed by the research group led by Dr. Euihark Lee at MSU’s School of Packaging, stands as an AI-based digital tool. Its purpose is to harness insights derived from online customer reviews, meticulously evaluating a package's journey throughout the distribution process. The collected data undergoes categorization based on sentiment and key metrics, offering manufacturers a detailed analysis to pinpoint critical issues during distribution and the consumer experience.
Expressing enthusiasm for supporting innovative endeavors, Frank Lehmann, Amcor’s Vice President of Corporate Venturing and Open Innovation, stated, “The WIPE team has demonstrated creativity and technological expertise, and we look forward to working together to improve outcomes for packaging."
Programs like Lift-Off showcase Amcor’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. The Corporate Venturing team actively identifies and develops future technologies, exploring potential partnerships and shared growth opportunities with the upcoming generation of innovators.
