Italian label and packaging producer Carby Label is expanding its flexible packaging capabilities with the acquisition of a fourth printing press from Lombardi Converting Machinery. The company has ordered an Invicta i1 670 inline flexographic press, which will be installed at its production facility in Casamassima, near Bari, Italy.

The investment is designed to support Carby Label’s growth in flexible packaging, particularly for customers operating in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector. By increasing production capacity, the company aims to respond to rising demand for packaging solutions that combine high print quality, efficiency and flexibility.

The new flexographic press strengthens Carby Label’s ability to move beyond traditional label production and expand into wider flexible packaging applications.

The Invicta i1 670 features a 670mm web width and is designed to handle both conventional label production and broader web-based flexible packaging jobs. According to Lombardi, the system combines automation, shorter changeover times and consistent print performance to improve productivity across different applications.

For packaging converters, the ability to operate across multiple product categories is becoming increasingly important.
