This machine, which produces triple corrugated cardboard, has been operational since January 2021 and is a key component of a €50 million investment in technological advancements at DS Smith's Portuguese factories. DS Smith's packaging division in Portugal operates six factories located in Guilhabreu, Esmoriz, Águeda, Carregal do Sal, Leiria, and Lisbon, complemented by a logistics center in Madeira. Additionally, DS Smith runs two recycling units in Porto and Figueira da Foz, and a kraft paper factory in Viana do Castelo. These facilities play a crucial role in DS Smith's integrated approach to packaging, recycling, and sustainability.
