GNA launches the new Green horizontal packaging machine with enhanced sturdiness, innovative control panel, and remote monitoring for optimized performance.
GNA, an Italian company based in Ozzano dell'Emilia (Bologna), specializing in the development, production, and sale of packaging machines for the food and non-food industries, has introduced the latest version of its Green horizontal packaging machine. This new version incorporates several mechanical improvements aimed at increasing the machine's sturdiness and functionality, alongside an innovative control panel and network connection for remote diagnosis and monitoring.
Valerio Nucci, founder of GNA, highlighted the enhancements: "With these innovations, the Green machine proves to be a state-of-the-art system that guarantees excellent performance. The machine is particularly adept at packaging fruits and vegetables such as kiwis, small fruits, strawberries, table grapes, tomatoes, apples, pears, mandarins, and zucchini. It excels in horizontal pad wrapping using flexible plastic and paper+net (including fabric) films."
The Green machine is also popular in the bakery and non-food sectors. According to Nucci, "In the fruit and vegetable sector, we are currently selling it for seasonal fruit in baskets such as peaches, grapes, and apricots. The new version of Green is already available, and several units have been delivered."
Massimiliano Nucci, GNA's design and R&D manager, emphasized the significant mechanical changes: "Our new Green machine features a redesigned pause unit, an upper welder with separate supports, and a reinforced support structure. The pause assembly has been replaced with a more structurally rigid one with horizontal translation and a tachometer with mechanical locking, allowing accurate display of the pause position. Separate supports for the top sealer improve the stability and precision of the sealing process. Additionally, the load-bearing structure has been strengthened by repositioning the front feet, and sockets for forklift forks have been introduced to facilitate movement."
A revolutionary element at the heart of the updated Green machine is a larger, more intuitive color control panel. "This innovation represents a real technological leap forward, opening the door to a series of functions dedicated to consulting production data. Thanks to its simple, cutting-edge interface, the panel becomes the point of contact for the operator, who, with a few simple gestures, can access crucial information for managing and optimizing production processes," explains Nucci.
The new Green machine includes on-board documentation, such as diagrams, manuals, and graphical representations, making it easier to maintain and operate. Operators can quickly access all the information they need, improving operational efficiency and reducing time spent searching for documents.
One of the most significant new features is the machine's internet connectivity, enabling real-time diagnostics and remote service. This allows operators to receive immediate support and resolve issues quickly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Another key feature is the connection to the company's Manufacturing Execution System (MES). "The planned integration enables continuous and in-depth monitoring of the manufacturing processes, significantly improving quality management and resource optimization," concludes Nucci.
