Innovia Films has launched a new white ultra-low-density film specifically designed for ice cream flow wrap packaging. This film, known as VL40, is a high-gloss, coextruded biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film that offers a wide heat seal range, making it ideal for ice cream sandwiches and popsicles.
Alasdair McEwen, head of Innovia's European Packaging Division, emphasized the importance of this innovation, stating, "Nothing screams summer more than ice cream, and we are proud to offer our new VL40 white cavitated film as an excellent partner for one of our favorite summer treats."
Developed and trialed at Innovia Films' site in Płock, Poland, the VL40 film boasts significant enhancements. According to Piotr Piasny, general manager at the Płock site, "Our film provides high puncture resistance, essential for preserving the product and preventing food waste. Additionally, its excellent printability ensures superior graphic appeal, and the film offers an easy-to-open package."
This new film is engineered to remain stable under varying climatic conditions, provided it is not stored at temperatures above 104°F (40°C). Innovia Films guarantees that under suitable storage conditions, the VL40 film can be stored for up to six months without any risk of deterioration.
The introduction of this innovative packaging solution highlights Innovia Films' commitment to enhancing product quality and consumer experience through advanced packaging technologies.
