Jenson & Nicholson Packaging, a subsidiary of Berger Paints, has signed a land lease with the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) to establish a new $13.7 million manufacturing facility. The new plant will span 6.34 acres within the National Special Economic Zone and is expected to create approximately 600 jobs, strengthening local industrial capacity.

The facility will produce rigid plastic pails, industrial paints, food-grade packaging, and metal packaging, supporting backward integration for Berger Paints’ operations in Bangladesh. BEZA officials noted that the company has previously received a 40-acre allocation within the same economic zone, with commercial production expected to commence in the next two months.

Jenson & Nicholson Packaging director Rupali Haque Chowdhury emphasized that the investment would advance environmentally friendly, technology-driven industrialisation in the country.

This development is part of a broader industrial growth trend in Bangladesh. Last year, Valmet secured its first order from Papertech Industries for a comprehensive automation package, including the country’s first distributed control system with the Valmet DNAe User Interface. Separately, Unilever Bangladesh launched its sustainability-focused URefill packaging initiative to reduce plastic waste through refillable liquid product dispensing.
