Enhancing Converting Flexibility: Rand Whitney Installs Engico Jumbo Rotary Die-Cutter
Rand Whitney recently announced the successful installation of a new Engico jumbo rotary die-cutter at one of its North American facilities.
The Engico, installed in February, signifies a significant advancement for Rand Whitney, offering enhanced converting flexibility. This dual-size jumbo rotary die-cutter features 66" and 99" die-cutting cylinders, effectively functioning as two machines within one unit. Its versatility allows for the processing of various packaging items, including regular slotted containers, end and side slotted trays, one-piece folders, and five-panel folders, all without the need for specialized tooling. Additionally, the machine can perform gluing, stitching, and taping in-line, streamlining the conversion process for bulk bins and other large double or triple-wall items.
"Our team is thrilled about the possibilities this new equipment opens up for our customers," stated the company in a press release. "Previously, obtaining large-format packaging posed challenges, but with the Engico, our customers can now benefit from just-in-time delivery. The machine's capabilities extend to converting single, double, and triple-wall boards, enabling us to accommodate packaging needs of varying strengths and sizes."
This investment underscores Rand Whitney's commitment to meeting evolving market demands while ensuring efficiency and quality in their packaging solutions.
