Koenig & Bauer introduces the Rapida 76, a compact yet powerful B2 offset press designed for commercial, label, and packaging applications, offering advanced automation and print versatility.
Koenig & Bauer has unveiled the Rapida 76, a highly versatile B2-format offset press engineered to meet the dynamic demands of commercial, label, and packaging print markets. As a compact yet powerful solution, the Rapida 76 is designed to offer maximum flexibility, rapid changeovers, and superior print quality—all within a streamlined footprint that suits both large-scale and specialized production environments.
Capable of printing on a wide array of substrates—including paper, board, and synthetic materials—the Rapida 76 is especially suited for printers seeking one press that can handle everything from commercial brochures to premium folding cartons and pressure-sensitive labels. With configurations of up to 11 printing and finishing units, the press can be equipped for UV, hybrid, or conventional offset workflows, making it adaptable to evolving market needs.
One of the standout features is the system’s focus on automation and efficiency. The Rapida 76 integrates Koenig & Bauer’s award-winning DriveTronic feeder, Simultaneous Plate Changing (SPC), and CleanTronic washing systems. These features drastically reduce makeready times, enabling quicker job changes and minimizing material waste—critical factors in short-run and versioned packaging production.
“The Rapida 76 is the answer to printers who want compactness without compromising on performance,” stated Ralf Sammeck, CEO of Koenig & Bauer’s Sheetfed division. “It reflects our commitment to helping customers maximize productivity while adapting to increasingly diverse print requirements.”
For packaging converters, the press also supports inline cold foil, coating, and advanced color control options, enabling high-impact finishes and precise color consistency. Additionally, the press features inline quality control systems that monitor color and register during production, ensuring high standards are maintained across every print run.
The Rapida 76's design also reflects Koenig & Bauer’s focus on sustainability. Energy-efficient drying, waste-reducing automation, and compatibility with environmentally friendly inks and substrates align with growing industry demands for greener print processes. Moreover, the compact design translates to lower energy consumption and optimized use of production floor space.
Early adopters across Europe and North America have already reported enhanced throughput, reduced costs, and improved job flexibility following installation. As market expectations for faster turnaround, personalization, and sustainable practices continue to rise, the Rapida 76 is positioned as a forward-thinking investment for printers across commercial and packaging sectors.
By bridging the gap between high-performance packaging production and versatile commercial print capabilities, the Rapida 76 underscores Koenig & Bauer’s ongoing innovation in the offset press market, catering to both traditional needs and future-forward printing strategies.
