SmartShield Packaging integrates WARDJet X-Series waterjet cutting system for advanced foam fabrication. The North American protective packaging specialist has installed the WARDJet X-Series to enhance production of custom foam inserts, shadow boards, carrying case interiors, and protective packaging assemblies. The system supports a variety of materials, including plastics, polyethylene foam, cross-linked foam, and wood, offering precise, heat-free cutting that reduces the need for secondary finishing.
Equipped with five-axis capability, the system enables complex geometries such as beveled inserts, multi-angle cavities, and precision tool controls, allowing SmartShield to expand into new markets while improving output, consistency, and design flexibility.
