Thai Coconut is expanding its beverage packaging capabilities with the installation of a full aseptic PET bottling line from Sidel, supporting the company’s strategy to grow international exports of coconut juice products. The move marks a significant shift from traditional cans and cartons toward lightweight PET bottles designed for stronger shelf presence, operational flexibility and compliance with global market requirements.

The new line is built around Sidel’s Aseptic Combi Predis technology and is capable of running at 45,000 bottles per hour. The system integrates preform sterilisation, blow moulding, filling and capping into a single continuous process. For a beverage producer targeting export growth, this level of integration can improve efficiency, reduce handling complexity and support consistent food safety performance.

Thai Coconut selected the system to handle both still and carbonated coconut juice products, giving the company greater production flexibility from one platform. The same filler can produce 350ml non-carbonated aseptic drinks and 350ml carbonated soft drink formats, allowing the business to respond to different consumer preferences and retail opportunities across global markets.

Aseptic PET technology is becoming increasingly important for beverage brands that need long shelf life, attractive packaging and high-speed production without compromising product safety.

According to Thai Coconut chief technical officer Montri Banraungsanor, Sidel was chosen for its strong reputation and proven expertise in aseptic beverage solutions. He also highlighted the role of Sidel’s packaging team in developing a new bottle design that improves marketing impact and shelf visibility. This is important because packaging is now a key competitive tool for export-focused beverage brands, especially in crowded juice and functional drink categories.

The Predis dry preform sterilisation system is a central part of the line’s sustainability and efficiency profile. Unlike wet sterilisation methods, Predis decontaminates preforms before blowing and does so with reduced use of water and chemicals. This can lower utility consumption while maintaining the food safety standards required for sensitive beverage products.

For coconut juice, aseptic processing is particularly relevant. The product must preserve flavour, quality and stability while moving through long distribution chains. Aseptic PET allows the beverage to be packaged in a format that is lighter and more visually adaptable than cans or cartons, while still supporting the shelf-life expectations of international retailers and consumers.

The line also includes Sidel’s Evo-ON Performance system, which uses operating data to monitor production and support real-time line adjustments. For plant managers and operators, this type of digital performance tool can improve visibility, help identify bottlenecks and support more consistent production outcomes.

Sidel Southeast Asia Pacific sales director Parkpoom Praprom said the Thai Coconut installation achieved 100% efficiency during customer validation, underlining the importance of performance guarantees in major beverage line projects. For manufacturers, line validation is essential because equipment must deliver not only technical capability, but reliable output under real production conditions.

The adoption of Sidel’s aseptic PET line positions Thai Coconut to scale faster in the global coconut beverage market. By combining high-speed filling, flexible product handling, dry sterilisation, digital monitoring and stronger bottle design, the company is aligning packaging innovation with export ambition.
