Luxury packaging specialist Pusterla 1880 collaborates with William Grant & Sons on their Wildmoor range of blended Scotch whiskies, crafting bespoke presentation boxes that reflect the brand's bold and contemporary aesthetic.
The world of luxury packaging has been elevated to new heights with Pusterla 1880's latest collaboration with William Grant & Sons (WG&S) on their Wildmoor range of blended Scotch whiskies. Over the past six decades, WG&S has carefully curated a selection of high-aged scotch whiskies, including 23, 30, and 40-year-old whiskies. The Wildmoor brand embodies the "incredible liquid craft" of the whiskies and the wilderness inspiration that lies behind them.
The visual identity for Wildmoor is bold and contemporary, featuring a "chiselled from stone" aesthetic that exudes an "enduring, timeless quality". This is mirrored in the packaging, where the bottle design evokes a sense of being cut from the very landscapes it represents. The presentation boxes boast a stylistic minimalist appearance that depicts these same scenes, showcasing the perfect blend of form and function.
To achieve this level of craftsmanship, Pusterla 1880 carefully selected GF Smith MAX paper for the boxes, ensuring a high-contrast image and uncoated feel that complements the natural imagery. For the two younger blends, the boxes feature top-opening designs, while the Black Mountain 40-year-old variety's box boasts a front-opening design. The latter boasts an all-black design, achieved through the use of white ink as a base under CMYK, and features a leather pull tab with a debossed Wildmoor logo.
Pusterla 1880's attention to detail extends to the use of special coatings, which prevent any marks during production – particularly important for the lighter-coloured boxes. Furthermore, the boxes for the younger whiskies are fully recyclable, eschewing plastics and magnets in favour of eco-friendly materials.
