ACTEGA is investing in a new production facility for metal packaging sealants at its Foshan site in Guangdong Province, China. The expansion is designed to strengthen the company's regional manufacturing capabilities and provide Asian can makers with locally produced sealant solutions.
Construction of the new facility is expected to be completed by the end of September 2026. The production platform will manufacture both premium and standard sealant grades for food and beverage cans, supporting manufacturers looking to improve production yields and maintain consistent packaging performance.
Local production strengthens regional supply
The investment forms part of ACTEGA's strategy to bring manufacturing, technical support and packaging expertise closer to customers in the Asian market. Local production is expected to shorten supply chains while allowing the company to respond more quickly to changing customer requirements.
The new facility will bring together production, sales and technical service capabilities within ACTEGA's regional network. The company already operates an office and application laboratory in Bangkok, Thailand, strengthening its ability to provide technical support across Asia.

The Foshan investment builds on a technology transfer programme launched in 2025 between ACTEGA's Global Sealants Hub, ACTEGA Artística in Spain and ACTEGA Foshan.
This transfer allows knowledge and manufacturing expertise developed within ACTEGA's global sealants network to be applied to local production. The approach is intended to combine global technical capabilities with a more responsive regional manufacturing structure.
Digital monitoring adds process control
Alongside local sealant production, ACTEGA will expand customer access to digital tools designed to improve manufacturing efficiency. One of these is ROTARflow, a solution for monitoring and managing sealant film weights during production.
Monitoring sealant application digitally can provide greater process transparency and help manufacturers control material consumption. More consistent film weights can also support production stability and reduce the risk of unnecessary material use.
Improving efficiency for can makers
ACTEGA positions the combination of local production, technical support and digital process optimisation as a way to help Asian can makers improve operational performance. Better control over sealant application can contribute to consistent packaging quality while helping manufacturers protect machine uptime.
