AIP and Informa Markets expand their partnership to deliver packaging education and training across ProPak and hospitality events in Asia.

AIP and Informa Markets Expand Packaging Education Partnership Across Asia

AIP and Informa Markets strengthen regional partnership

The Australasian Institute of Packaging has expanded its long-standing partnership with Informa Markets, creating a broader platform for packaging education and professional training across Asia.

Under the new agreement, Informa Markets will become a Platinum Plus Partner of the AIP. The collaboration is intended to extend the institute’s educational programmes beyond the existing ProPak portfolio and into additional food, beverage and hospitality events throughout the region.

Fourteen years of collaboration with ProPak

The AIP has been providing packaging education and training within Informa Markets’ ProPak exhibitions in Southeast Asia for almost 14 years. During this period, the partnership has developed from individual educational activities into a wider programme of forums, workshops and professional training courses.

The AIP now acts as a leading educational partner for ProPak Asia in Thailand and supports other events across the ProPak portfolio, including shows in the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hanoi, China, India and the Middle East and Africa.

Education expands beyond packaging exhibitions

The strengthened partnership will now extend AIP programmes into additional Informa Markets events within the HoReCa sector. The first major expansion will take place at Food & Hospitality Asia 2027 in Singapore, scheduled for 20–23 April 2027.

This broader approach is designed to bring packaging education closer to professionals working across food production, hospitality, catering, processing and distribution, where packaging decisions increasingly influence product safety, sustainability and operational efficiency.

Training responds to a changing packaging industry

Packaging professionals across Asia are facing increasingly complex technical and regulatory requirements. Sustainability targets, recyclability, food safety, automation, digital technologies and new material developments are creating greater demand for specialised knowledge and professional training.

Industry education can help converters, brand owners and manufacturers understand how these changes affect packaging design, production and compliance while supporting the development of more consistent standards across regional markets.

ProPak remains a major platform for industry knowledge

ProPak exhibitions have evolved beyond machinery showcases to include a growing educational component. Annual packaging forums, workshops and training programmes now run alongside technology demonstrations and supplier exhibitions.

This combination gives visitors access not only to new equipment and materials but also to technical expertise on how emerging technologies can be integrated into existing manufacturing and packaging operations.

Regional collaboration supports skills development

Informa Markets says the expanded partnership will combine the AIP’s technical expertise with its international exhibition platforms to create new opportunities for professional development across the packaging, food and beverage industries.

The initiative also reflects the increasing need for skilled packaging professionals as manufacturing expands across Asia and companies adopt more advanced production technologies and sustainability strategies.

Packaging knowledge becomes increasingly strategic

As packaging requirements become more complex, education and workforce development are emerging as important components of industry growth. Companies need professionals who can evaluate materials, equipment, sustainability performance and regulatory obligations across increasingly interconnected supply chains.

By expanding its collaboration with Informa Markets, the AIP is aiming to make packaging training more accessible across major Asian industry events while strengthening knowledge-sharing between manufacturers, converters, suppliers and brand owners.
