Amberley Labels produces 3,000 limited-edition Henderson’s Relish labels with dual varnish for the Pride of Yorkshire charity campaign.
Amberley Labels supports Pride of Yorkshire campaign
Amberley Labels has partnered with Sheffield-based Henderson’s Relish to produce a limited-edition bottle supporting the Pride of Yorkshire fundraising campaign for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
The project combines regional identity, illustration and specialist label production, with all profits from bottle sales donated to the charity as part of the hospital’s 150th anniversary appeal.
More than 3,000 labels produced
Amberley Labels produced more than 3,000 labels for the special release using flexographic printing technology.
The labels were finished with a dual-varnish treatment intended to enhance contrast and make the illustration stand out while retaining the familiar visual identity associated with Henderson’s Relish.
Local illustrator creates campaign artwork
The packaging features artwork by Sheffield illustrator Abi Langridge, known professionally as Paperface. Her design was created specifically for the Pride of Yorkshire initiative and uses Henderson’s signature orange as its dominant background colour.
The composition includes a heart-shaped central crest surrounded by hand-drawn food illustrations and flowing forms inspired by the relish itself, linking the packaging with both the product and the wider community campaign.
Limited editions strengthen brand engagement
Henderson’s Relish has previously used limited-edition packaging to connect with consumers through collaborations with football clubs, artists and local organisations.
For established brands, temporary packaging redesigns can create new reasons for consumers to engage with familiar products while allowing the pack to communicate cultural, social or charitable messages without permanently changing the core brand identity.
Packaging supports local fundraising
The Pride of Yorkshire campaign will place 150 life-sized lion and lioness sculptures across the region, using art and community participation to raise funds for improvements to Sheffield Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department.
The Henderson’s bottles form part of this wider fundraising activity, turning a standard retail product into a collectible format directly connected to the campaign.
Flexographic printing supports short promotional runs
The project also illustrates the role of flexographic printing in limited-edition label production. Modern flexo technology can deliver high-quality graphics, multiple finishes and repeatable colour performance while remaining suitable for relatively short promotional campaigns.
Additional varnish effects can further differentiate the pack without requiring changes to the bottle itself, allowing brands to create a new visual identity using the label as the primary design surface.
Second charity collaboration between the companies
This is the second time Amberley Labels has worked with Henderson’s Relish on a charity-focused limited-edition project. Their collaboration began in 2021 and has since developed around campaigns combining packaging design with community initiatives.
For converters, projects of this kind demonstrate how decorative printing and finishing can support more than shelf impact. Packaging can also become a platform for storytelling, fundraising and local brand engagement.
