Asteria expands Dutch label production network

Asteria Group has acquired GT Etiketten & Labels, a Dutch label manufacturer based in Schoonebeek, strengthening its production footprint in the Netherlands and adding specialist flexographic and multilayer label capabilities to its European network.

The acquisition was announced on 31 August 2026 and forms part of Asteria’s wider strategy of expanding through technically specialised label and packaging businesses across Europe.

Eight-colour UV LED flexo joins Asteria portfolio

GT Etiketten operates eight-colour UV LED flexographic printing equipment alongside digital label production and in-house manufacturing of blank labels.

The additional capability gives Asteria greater flexibility across short and medium production runs while supporting applications that require strong colour performance, specialist finishes and consistent print quality.

Multilayer labels add technical differentiation

One of GT Etiketten’s specialist areas is duo-layer multilayer label production. These constructions provide additional printable space without significantly increasing the footprint of the label on the product.

Multilayer labels can be particularly useful where brands need to communicate extensive regulatory, multilingual or promotional information while maintaining limited available packaging space.

Food, beverage and cosmetics are key markets

GT Etiketten supplies labels across food, beverage and cosmetics applications, working with different materials, adhesives and constructions according to product and end-use requirements.

These sectors place demanding requirements on label performance, including resistance to moisture, refrigeration, handling and repeated consumer interaction, while also requiring strong visual differentiation at retail.

Local site remains part of European network

The Schoonebeek facility will become part of Asteria’s existing European production network and is intended to complement the group’s current sites in the Netherlands.

Maintaining local production while connecting the business to a broader manufacturing network can allow capacity, technical expertise and specialist equipment to be shared between sites.

Customers gain access to wider technology base

GT Etiketten customers will gain access to Asteria’s broader portfolio of labelling and packaging technologies, while the group can use the acquired company’s specialist capabilities across a wider European customer base.

This type of integration can provide benefits for brands that increasingly seek suppliers capable of supporting multiple label constructions, printing technologies and markets through a single network.
