Detpak's groundbreaking Vanguard series – compostable sugarcane packaging without PFAS, aligning with global sustainability goals. Available now in Australia for a greener future.
Detpak, as the pioneering Australian enterprise, has introduced the Vanguard series, comprising compostable sugarcane plates, bowls, and containers, devoid of added PFAS, marking a notable leap in sustainable packaging.
Branded as a "groundbreaking" solution, the Eco-Products range utilizes renewable moulded sugarcane fiber, employing a proprietary formulation to ensure grease resistance without resorting to the inclusion of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances).
Detpak's Product and Brand General Manager, Keith Bishop, highlights the global concern surrounding the environmental persistence and toxicity of PFAS. While understanding of the long-term, low-level health effects is evolving, Detpak collaborates with its customer base to phase out PFAS from their products. The Vanguard range is a pivotal milestone in Detpak's strategy to eliminate added PFAS from its entire product line.
Detpak has secured exclusivity as the sole retailer of the Vanguard range in Australia. The launch aligns with Detpak's broader commitment to global sustainability targets, aiming to increase the percentage of products meeting or surpassing APCO's Sustainable Packaging Guidelines.
Chris Foley, CEO of APCO, underscores the removal of PFAS from packaging as a priority. As Australia's co-regulator for packaging, APCO collaborates closely with members like Detpak to identify and phase out PFAS where detected.
The Vanguard compostable packaging series is currently available in the Australian market, representing a significant stride towards sustainable, PFAS-free packaging solutions.
