Carton Pack's acquisition of UK-based Clifton Packaging enhances its European footprint, expanding capabilities in sustainable food packaging solutions.
In a strategic move to bolster its presence in the European packaging market, Carton Pack, an Italian company specializing in food industry packaging, has acquired the UK-based Clifton Packaging Group Limited. This acquisition aligns with Carton Pack's ongoing expansion strategy and enhances its capabilities in delivering comprehensive packaging solutions across Europe.
Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Leicester, Clifton Packaging has established itself as a reputable manufacturer of flexible food packaging solutions, catering to a diverse clientele that includes prominent brands in the wet protein and snacks sectors. The company's expertise in producing flexible films and pouches complements Carton Pack's existing product portfolio, enabling the combined entity to offer a broader range of packaging options to the food industry.
Clifton Packaging will continue its operations under the leadership of its current management team, led by CEO Shane D'Souza. This continuity ensures that clients will experience seamless service during the integration process, maintaining the high standards of quality and innovation that both companies are known for.
This acquisition marks Carton Pack's sixth since 2020 and the third since A&M Capital Europe (AMCE) acquired a majority stake in the company alongside the founding Leone family in April 2022. The partnership with AMCE has been instrumental in facilitating Carton Pack's growth through strategic acquisitions, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of sustainable and innovative packaging solutions in the European market.
Gianni Leone, CEO of Carton Pack Group, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "The acquisition represents a vital step in our global strategy to deliver both plastic and paper sustainable packaging solutions on a larger scale to the food industry. This partnership not only expands our product range but also strengthens our capacity to serve clients across Europe and beyond, further reinforcing our commitment to quality, service, and innovation."
Shane D'Souza, CEO of Clifton Packaging, echoed this sentiment, adding, "Together, we are poised to redefine the future of packaging by leveraging our combined strengths to deliver unparalleled value to our customers and position ourselves at the forefront of sustainable packaging solutions."
This strategic acquisition underscores the dynamic nature of the packaging industry, where companies are increasingly seeking to expand their capabilities and market reach through targeted mergers and acquisitions. By integrating Clifton Packaging's expertise and resources, Carton Pack is well-positioned to meet the evolving demands of the food packaging sector, particularly in the areas of sustainability and innovation.
As the industry continues to prioritize environmentally friendly packaging solutions, the combined strengths of Carton Pack and Clifton Packaging are expected to play a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices and setting new standards in packaging excellence across Europe.
