Fanta collaborates with Universal Pictures to feature Freddy Fazbear, M3GAN, and Chucky on its Halloween packaging, alongside spooky flavours and immersive events.

Fanta Unleashes Horror Icons on Limited Halloween Packaging

This Halloween, Fanta dives into the horror genre with a bold and creative campaign, launching a limited-edition packaging series featuring some of the most iconic characters from modern horror films. In collaboration with Universal Pictures, Fanta’s new bottles and cans bring together Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s, the sinister smart doll M3GAN, and the infamous ghost doll Chucky—all appearing on specially designed Halloween-themed packaging.

Available in eye-catching 500ml PET bottles and multi-can packs (8x330ml and 6x200ml), the Halloween lineup includes popular flavours like orange and grape, plus a mysterious new blood-red fruit soda inspired by Chucky himself. Each variant is paired with one of the horror characters, making the packaging a collectible item for fans and a standout product on store shelves during the spooky season.

Horror Icons on Packaging

Freddy Fazbear takes over the orange-flavoured Fanta in anticipation of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which hits cinemas on 4 December 2025. Meanwhile, M3GAN, who captivated the internet with her eerie dance moves and cutting-edge AI storyline, is the face of the grape-flavoured Fanta. Her return in the sequel M3GAN 2.0 further cements her cult status in pop horror culture.

Adding to the thrill, Fanta’s “Chucky” fruit-flavoured soda comes in a vivid blood-red hue, with packaging that reflects Chucky’s menacing aesthetic—complete with red hair and his trademark evil grin. The flavour promises a bold, explosive fruity experience designed to capture the daring spirit of Halloween.

Immersive Halloween Experiences

Fanta’s Halloween strategy goes beyond the bottle. The brand is staging a series of interactive activations and events in Hong Kong, combining pop culture with in-person engagement. On 31 October, Fanta teams up with FAYY Club to host a “CantoPop Halloween” party featuring Beat Friday, blending classic CantoPop hits with trending tracks to create a nostalgic yet electric atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy themed drinks, Fanta photo zones, and enter a contest by sharing the experience on social media for a chance to win admission tickets.

Additionally, surprise Fanta giveaways will be hosted at the West Kowloon Cultural District and AIRSIDE in Kai Tak. Fans completing designated Halloween-themed tasks can score free Fanta products. The festivities continue with a special Fanta mocktail available at the Secret Garden Hello Magical Hair Party at the West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park on Halloween night.

A Broader Marketing Context

This campaign follows Fanta’s recent product reformulations, including new taste profiles for both orange and grape flavours. These updates aim to enhance the multisensory drinking experience and appeal to a younger, trend-conscious audience. The Halloween initiative builds on Fanta’s earlier collaborations, such as the partnership with Joypolis Sports Hong Kong, highlighting the brand’s intent to merge entertainment, culture, and product innovation.

By blending horror nostalgia, event marketing, and product innovation, Fanta is creating a Halloween campaign that engages on multiple levels—visual, experiential, and emotional.

This seasonal strategy reflects a broader trend in FMCG marketing, where limited editions and pop culture tie-ins serve as a catalyst for consumer excitement and brand loyalty. With spooky packaging, viral characters, and immersive experiences, Fanta proves once again that its brand is as playful and bold as the flavours it delivers.
