Experience cutting-edge scrap collection at a new Pacific Northwest corrugated box plant. Höcker Polytechnik and Kernic Systems optimize efficiency with advanced technologies.
Last week, teams from Höcker Polytechnik GmbH and Kernic Systems initiated the commissioning of an extensive centralized scrap collection system at a new corrugated box plant in the Pacific Northwest. The 65,000 cfm negative pressure setup incorporates Hocker PMA rotary airlock separators, MultiStar continuous-duty dust collectors with integrated dust briquetters, and two shredding stations.
Specifically designed for a BHS Corrugated line, the zero-defect shredding system automatically processes defect waste, conveying it 500' to the baler room. The room features a second Hocker PHSH combo shredder for sheet waste, peel waste, and 110' long cores. The negative pressure system, ensuring minimal dust leakage, operates efficiently with Kernic & Hocker's control system that communicates with machinery, optimizing fan speed as needed. Integrated briquetters under each dust collector provide a labor-free air conveying system, offering the customer significant time, cost, and energy savings.
