Identiv showcases RFID, NFC, BLE and sensor-enabled labels for authentication, traceability, cold-chain monitoring and connected packaging.
Identiv expands connected packaging portfolio
Identiv will showcase a broad portfolio of RFID, NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy and sensor-enabled labels at LOUPE Americas 2026, targeting packaging applications where authentication, traceability, environmental monitoring and digital consumer interaction are becoming increasingly important.
The company’s technologies are designed to connect physical products with digital information throughout their lifecycle, extending packaging functionality beyond identification into security, logistics and consumer engagement.
ID-Safe targets tamper-evident applications
Among the technologies being presented is ID-Safe, a tamper-evident solution developed for pharmaceuticals, electronics and other high-value products.
The system is intended to help brands determine whether a package has been opened or compromised while also supporting authentication throughout the supply chain. This type of connected tamper evidence can provide an additional security layer beyond conventional physical seals.
ID-Garment links products to digital experiences
ID-Garment combines authentication with digital storytelling for apparel and luxury goods. By embedding connected functionality into tags or labels, brands can link individual products to digital content after purchase.
This can support product verification, care information, loyalty programmes and extended brand experiences while also creating a digital identity that remains associated with the physical product.
Smaller form factors expand smart label applications
Identiv will also present ID-Tiny, a solution designed for applications where space, durability and discretion are critical.
Smaller inlays can expand connected packaging into compact products and packaging formats where conventional RFID or NFC components may be difficult to integrate without affecting appearance or functionality.
BLE supports real-time product visibility
The company’s Bluetooth Low Energy portfolio includes ID-BLU, developed for real-time tracking and condition monitoring of goods during transport.
ID-Pixels 3.0 extends BLE functionality into labels intended for larger-scale retail, packaging and pharmaceutical applications where businesses require item-level visibility across inventories and distribution networks.
ID-Sense monitors cold-chain conditions
Environmental monitoring is another major focus. ID-Sense can track temperature and humidity conditions during transport and storage, supporting applications in food, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
For temperature-sensitive products, packaging data can provide evidence that required conditions were maintained and help identify where excursions occurred within the logistics chain.
Connected packaging supports authentication and compliance
RFID and NFC technologies are increasingly being used to provide individual products with digital identities that can support authentication, traceability and regulatory documentation.
These capabilities are becoming particularly relevant as Digital Product Passport initiatives and wider supply-chain transparency requirements encourage manufacturers to connect physical products with structured digital records.
Labels become part of digital infrastructure
The development of smart labels reflects a broader shift in which labelling is becoming part of the data infrastructure surrounding a product rather than functioning only as a printed information surface.
RFID, NFC and BLE can allow packaging to communicate automatically with warehouse systems, smartphones and monitoring platforms, creating new possibilities for inventory management and consumer interaction.
Security gains importance across premium and regulated markets
Luxury goods, electronics and pharmaceuticals are among the sectors facing increasing pressure to improve product authentication and reduce counterfeiting.
Embedding digital identification directly into labels or packaging can make products more difficult to replicate while giving brands and consumers additional ways to verify authenticity.
Identiv brings connected technologies to LOUPE Americas
Identiv will present the portfolio at LOUPE Americas 2026, where label converters and packaging producers are increasingly evaluating how connected technologies can be integrated directly into existing workflows.
By combining RFID, NFC, BLE and sensor functionality across multiple label formats, the company is positioning connected packaging as a platform capable of supporting security, logistics, environmental monitoring and digital engagement within the same physical product ecosystem.
