Top 10 Award-Winning Spirits Packaging Designs of 2025

In an increasingly competitive spirits market, packaging has become as important as the liquid inside the bottle. At the 2025 Design & Packaging Masters, part of The Global Spirits Masters Competitions, judges recognised ten outstanding spirits packaging designs that successfully balance aesthetics, functionality and brand storytelling.

For today’s consumers, the tactile and visual experience of a bottle often defines their first impression of a spirit. While durability and usability remain essential, premium spirits packaging is now expected to convey authenticity, heritage and emotion, while also responding to growing expectations around sustainability and reuse.

The judging panel, which convened in London, assessed entries based on their ability to stand out on shelf and behind the bar, communicate a clear brand message and offer a well-considered user experience. Across the winning designs, a common thread emerged: a move towards refined luxury that feels purposeful rather than excessive.

Among the Master medal winners was Perro Verde Ensamble, whose minimalist green-tinted bottle impressed judges with its handcrafted appearance, embossed glass details and nod to mezcal’s historical roots. The design demonstrated how simplicity, when executed with precision, can elevate a premium spirit.

Another standout was Cygnet 77 Gin, presented in a distinctive tear-shaped decanter. The elongated punt and sculptural form were praised for sparking conversation while reinforcing the brand’s identity of elegance and transformation. Functionality and visual drama were combined without compromising usability.

Sustainability also played an important role in several winning designs. Bols Blue 1575, released to mark the brand’s 450th anniversary, earned recognition not only for its bartender-friendly shape and improved ergonomics, but also for its use of 50% recycled glass. The bottle was seen as a clear step forward in aligning premium packaging with environmental responsibility.

Storytelling proved equally powerful. From Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition, which used Indian-inspired artwork and textured materials to celebrate cultural heritage, to Pistola Añejo, whose embossed bottle narrates a mythological origin story, the winning designs showed how packaging can act as a narrative canvas.

Across all ten award-winning entries, the judges highlighted attention to detail, material choice and thoughtful design as decisive factors. Whether through embossing, closures, textured labels or reusable formats, each bottle demonstrated how packaging can strengthen brand identity while enhancing the consumer experience.

Ultimately, the 2025 Design & Packaging Masters reinforced a clear message for the spirits industry: successful packaging today must do more than look beautiful. It must tell a story, feel authentic, function seamlessly in real-world settings and increasingly reflect responsible material choices.
