ABB and DS Smith's sustainable partnership: OPTIMAX® digital solution optimizes energy, cuts emissions, and boosts financial and environmental performance.
In 2022, ABB and DS Smith partnered to implement a cutting-edge digital solution at DS Smith's paper mill in Porcari, Italy. ABB's OPTIMAX® Steam and Energy Optimization software played a key role in optimizing steam and power generation, resulting in a 4% reduction in gas consumption and carbon emissions.
This aligns with ABB's commitment to sustainability and demonstrates their expertise in delivering solutions that enhance both financial performance and environmental goals. The project not only achieved significant cost reductions but also improved operational efficiency and reduced the carbon footprint by about 13,000 tons per year.
