How All4Labels leads sustainable packaging innovation, addressing environmental challenges, reducing carbon footprint, and contributing to a brighter future
Packaging assumes a crucial role in safeguarding product safety, quality, convenience, and shelf life, while simultaneously addressing environmental and social challenges such as waste generation, resource depletion, greenhouse gas emissions, and health risks. The pressing question revolves around aligning packaging practices with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure universal peace and prosperity.
All4Labels stands as a transformative force in the packaging industry, spearheading sustainability across the entire value chain. Renowned as one of the world's leading label companies, All4Labels pioneers sustainable and digital packaging solutions across diverse industry segments. The group's commitment to innovation and digitalization is pivotal in advancing business objectives, evident in substantial investments spanning over 50 global production sites, dedicated to cutting-edge digital and hybrid technologies.
Through a robust digital footprint, All4Labels has successfully curtailed energy consumption compared to traditional printing methods. The company's unwavering dedication to fostering a more sustainable production process has led to operations minimizing run waste and employing toolless and high-drying methods, even with substantial ink coverage. Continuous innovation positions All4Labels at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the future.
The urgency of addressing climate change is evident in ambitious projects leveraging the latest printing technologies and renewable energy, resulting in significant CO2 emissions reductions within All4Labels' operations.
Paloma Alonso, All4Labels CEO, underscores the group's commitment to research and development (R&D): “Our successes in boosting sustainability depend on many different approaches. For example, dedicated internal teams collaborate with various university and association partnerships to establish Centers of Excellence (CoE) focusing on recyclability and recycled materials, fostering the emergence of groundbreaking ideas.”
This commitment has given rise to a stream of innovative products. In 2022, All4Labels launched its STAR portfolio, a comprehensive range of products and services empowering brand owners to seize business opportunities while enhancing environmental performance. STAR facilitates the achievement of ambitious packaging reduction, reuse, and recycling targets, driving transformative changes across industries.
In another move to reduce its carbon footprint in 2022, All4Labels initiated a switch from conventional curing to LED print curing. Günther Weymans, All4Labels COO, states, “By retrofitting around 70 printing machines across 13 different sites, we anticipate a reduction of approximately 2,000 tons of carbon emissions annually. We are also decarbonizing our electricity needs through investments in high-quality Energy Attribute Certificates (EAC) and on-site electricity generation using solar panels.”
All4Labels' commitment to redefining packaging excellence and promoting environmental consciousness is effecting positive change, ensuring a brighter future for future generations. Through bold actions and substantial investments, All4Labels is addressing waste and emissions, contributing to a more sustainable and responsible industry.
