Celine Grant has been named President of The Recycling Association, succeeding Craig Curtis. Grant aims to focus on material quality and continue the association’s growth.
Celine Grant has been appointed as the new President of The Recycling Association, succeeding Craig Curtis, who has completed a five-year term in the role. Grant’s leadership marks a new chapter for the association as it navigates a rapidly evolving landscape of legislation and regulation.
Grant, who has been a director at Re-Gen in Northern Ireland since 2004, brings extensive experience and expertise to her new role. She has served on The Recycling Association’s governing Council since 2017, making her well-prepared to take on the presidency. "I am delighted to take over as President of The Recycling Association at a time when so much is happening in terms of legislation and regulation and the Association is growing rapidly," Grant stated. "Over my two years as President, The Recycling Association will look at material quality as one of its priorities and I look forward to working with the team on that."
Colin Clarke will assume the role of Vice President, set to take over from Grant after her two-year term. Clarke is the managing director of Winfibre, based in Nottingham, and like Grant, joined the Council in 2017. His experience and insights will be invaluable as the association continues to advance its goals.
Grant expressed gratitude towards her predecessor, Craig Curtis, for his leadership and contributions during challenging times. "I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Craig Curtis for his time as President. He is a man of integrity that has guided and presided over The Recycling Association through difficult times including Covid, enabled the smooth transition from Simon Ellin as chief executive to Paul Sanderson, and ensured that the Association has been successful during his time as President," she said.
Under Grant’s presidency, The Recycling Association plans to focus on improving material quality, a crucial aspect as the industry faces increasing scrutiny and demand for higher standards. Her commercial acumen and dedication to sustainability will steer the association towards achieving its objectives and furthering its mission.
The Recycling Association's continued growth and success are a testament to the strong leadership and commitment of its members, and with Grant at the helm, the future looks promising for the organization and the broader recycling industry.
