Coty’s 2025 Sustainability Report reveals major progress in circular packaging, renewable ingredients, and decarbonisation, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable beauty.
Coty’s 2025 Sustainability Report Highlights Progress in Packaging, Ingredients, and Decarbonisation
October 31, 2025 — Global beauty powerhouse Coty has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, showcasing significant strides toward its environmental and social responsibility goals. The report underscores progress across three core pillars — ingredients transparency, packaging innovation, and decarbonisation — as the company continues its mission to create a more sustainable and inclusive beauty industry.
Driving Circularity in Packaging
Coty has achieved key milestones in sustainable packaging, with over 80% of its packaging now designed for recyclability, reuse, or refillability. The company has expanded the use of post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials across its product lines, including the Gucci Beauty and CoverGirl ranges. By prioritising eco-design principles, Coty aims to reach 100% recycle-ready packaging by 2030.
The report also highlights the company’s ongoing partnerships with leading material innovators to introduce biobased and lightweight packaging solutions. Coty is testing advanced polymers made from renewable sources, reducing plastic dependency while maintaining the aesthetic standards of luxury beauty brands.
“Our ambition is clear: to make beauty products that deliver luxury without compromising sustainability,” said Sue Y. Nabi, CEO of Coty. “Every design choice — from materials to refill mechanisms — is guided by our commitment to a circular economy.”
Transparency and Responsible Ingredients
Coty’s sustainability roadmap also emphasises transparency in ingredient sourcing and traceability. The company now discloses detailed ingredient lists and supplier information for more than 90% of its formulas. It is investing in biotechnological innovations to develop natural and renewable alternatives to synthetic ingredients, helping to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible sourcing.
Additionally, Coty has expanded its collaboration with non-profit organisations to support biodiversity preservation in sourcing regions. The company’s Beauty That Lasts program is driving measurable impact across its supply chain through education, gender equality, and ethical sourcing initiatives.
Commitment to Net-Zero Operations
On the climate front, Coty reported a 32% reduction in scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions since 2020 and reaffirmed its target to achieve net-zero operations by 2040. The company continues to transition to renewable energy sources across its manufacturing sites and has implemented carbon accounting systems to measure progress across its global value chain.
“Sustainability is both a responsibility and an opportunity to lead by example in the beauty industry,” Nabi added. “We’re making tangible progress toward decarbonisation, ingredient integrity, and packaging circularity — all essential to our future growth.”
Shaping the Future of Sustainable Beauty
Coty’s 2025 report positions the company as one of the leading forces in sustainable transformation within the cosmetics sector. Through innovation, transparency, and climate action, Coty continues to redefine what responsible beauty looks like for consumers and the planet alike.
“We are proud of the progress we’ve made, but even more focused on what comes next,” said Nabi. “Our goal is to create beauty that lasts — sustainably, inclusively, and responsibly.”
By integrating circular packaging, renewable ingredients, and science-based climate targets, Coty demonstrates that sustainability and luxury can indeed go hand in hand — setting a new standard for the global beauty industry.
