LOG Pharma will showcase innovative sustainable packaging at CPHI Frankfurt 2025, developed with Dow's HEALTH+ HDPE resins, combining performance with eco-efficiency.

LOG Pharma and Dow to Unveil Eco-Friendly High-Barrier Packaging at CPHI 2025

LOG Pharma Primary Packaging is set to make a strong statement at CPHI Frankfurt 2025 with the debut of its latest sustainable pharmaceutical packaging innovations, developed in strategic partnership with global materials science leader Dow. Scheduled for October 28–30, this showcase at Stand 8.0D74, Zone Packaging, will underscore how smart material science can meet stringent pharmaceutical requirements while advancing environmental goals.

One of the standout developments is LOG Pharma’s new barrier eco line, produced with Dow’s HEALTH+ high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins. This innovative solution combines regulatory compliance, product safety, and reduced environmental impact, offering a clear path for pharmaceutical companies aiming to meet growing regulatory and consumer demands for sustainability.

Lightweight, High-Barrier Performance

The new bottles are 30% lighter than standard HDPE pharmaceutical bottles, yet provide twice the moisture barrier performance. This is critical in protecting sensitive drug formulations from degradation due to moisture and oxygen exposure. Beyond product stability, the lighter design translates into lower material consumption, reduced logistics costs, and a smaller carbon footprint.

“Our goal is to provide pharmaceutical packaging that is both sustainable and affordable,” said Noam Nahari, VP of Marketing and Business Development at LOG Pharma. “Partnering with Dow allows us to deliver barrier solutions that safeguard medicines and support our customers’ environmental targets.”

Material Science Meets Market Needs

Dow’s HEALTH+ Polymers meet the rigorous standards required for pharmaceutical applications, offering consistency, compliance, and traceability. According to Zshelyz Jaynelle Lee, EMEA Senior Marketing Manager at Dow, this collaboration is an example of how cutting-edge materials can solve industry challenges: “Using HEALTH+ Polymers, LOG Pharma has developed bottles that protect sensitive medicines while being lighter and more eco-friendly.”

Rising Demand for Barrier Packaging

The global market for barrier resins is projected to grow from $12.4 billion in 2021 to $16.6 billion by 2026, underscoring the need for packaging solutions that balance protection with sustainability. LOG Pharma’s latest offerings align with this trend, addressing both pharmaceutical quality standards and global climate goals.

Driving Forward Sustainable Pharma Packaging

As the pharmaceutical industry shifts toward eco-conscious operations, LOG Pharma’s collaboration with Dow sets a precedent for how performance and sustainability can co-exist. The upcoming presentation at CPHI Frankfurt 2025 will offer a compelling look at how thoughtful design and advanced materials can redefine the future of pharmaceutical packaging.

Attendees are encouraged to visit LOG Pharma’s booth to explore firsthand how these solutions can help companies meet their performance benchmarks while achieving their sustainability objectives.
