Logitech Achieves Significant Carbon Reduction in FY24

Logitech International has released its FY24 Impact Report, showcasing the company's substantial progress in reducing its carbon footprint. The report details how Logitech's Designing for Sustainability (DfS) initiative has led to a reduction of nearly 139,000 tons of CO2e across its product portfolio and operations. This reduction is equivalent to the emissions from driving around the Earth approximately 13,000 times in an average gasoline-powered car.

According to Logitech CEO Hanneke Faber, the company has achieved a 58% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2019 and a 24% reduction in Scope 3 emissions compared to 2021. These milestones are part of Logitech's ambitious goal to cut Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030. The company’s focus on renewable energy and sustainable design has been pivotal in reaching these targets.

Logitech’s DfS approach integrates environmental and social considerations into every design decision, from sourcing raw materials to product end-of-life. Key achievements highlighted in the report include:

Product Innovations
  • Wave Keys wireless keyboard: 37% carbon footprint reduction
  • Casa Pop-Up Desk: 34% carbon footprint reduction
Sustainable Materials
  • Use of Next Life Plastics in 75% of products, avoiding over 25,000 tons of CO2e in 2023
  • Low-carbon aluminum in 66 product lines, reducing 13,000 tons of CO2e
  • FSC™-certified paper packaging in 19% of products, with 73% of new products adopting this standard

Logitech also reported that 94% of its electricity footprint is now derived from renewable sources. Additionally, 66% of Logitech products are carbon labeled, with plans to label all products by 2025.

Equity and Inclusion

The report also emphasizes Logitech's commitment to equity and inclusion. The company's leadership team has achieved gender parity, and its Board of Directors includes 40% female representation. Logitech partners with organizations such as Girls Who Code and the AbleGamers Foundation to promote diversity in the tech industry.

Logitech's Supplier Diversity Pledge and various outreach programs further support diverse suppliers and maintain the company's Gender Fair certification.
