Registrations are open for the Pro Carton Young Designers Award (PCYDA) and Pro Carton Student Video Award (PCSVA).
The competition aims to promote innovation in sustainable packaging and celebrate emerging talents in packaging design and filmmaking. Both free-entry competitions encourage students to learn about the packaging industry while providing them the opportunity to enhance their creative skills.
The Pro Carton Young Designers Award offers students the chance to pioneer and showcase their innovative ideas in three categories: Creative carton packaging for food and beverages, Creative carton packaging for all other products, and the Sustainability Award.
The Pro Carton Student Video Award invites aspiring filmmakers to produce videos highlighting the versatility, sustainability, and innovation of carton packaging. The award allows explaining the benefits of carton in an engaging way, with the best works being recognized with cash prizes.
Winfried Muehling, Director of Marketing and Communications at Pro Carton, commented: "Both the Pro Carton Young Designers Award and the Pro Carton Student Video Award offer a fantastic opportunity for the future generation of packaging enthusiasts to showcase their talent and, of course, the versatility of carton. It's a chance for the industry to demonstrate exciting job opportunities for young graduates. We look forward to celebrating once again the creative and inspiring entries submitted in 2024."
Last year, the Pro Carton Young Designer’s Award received over 750 entries from 30 countries, while the Pro Carton Student Video Award received 33 entries from 17 countries. In addition to the monetary prize for the winning work, all winners will be invited to the official ceremony on September 19 in Berlin, Germany, during the annual congress of the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA). The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the European Carton Excellence Awards.
